On Friday 10th April 2026, officers from the North Cluster NPT officers were conducting plain‑clothes patrols across Wood Street, Upper Walthamstow, and Hale End & Highams Park South wards.
Just as they decided to call it a night and were heading back to base, they spotted 2 individuals running out of Tesco on Larkshall Road, E4, carrying large bags of goods while being chased by store staff. Without hesitation, the officers, gave chase, and quickly detained both suspects. In doing so, they recovered approximately £2,000 worth of stolen alcohol and high‑value toys belonging to Tesco.
What officers didn’t initially know was the wider significance of these arrests. Both suspects were already wanted in connection with a series of retail thefts (including kiosk breaches), commercial burglaries, and knife‑point robberies affecting major retailers across NE, EA, and NA areas. The female suspect was wanted for 7 offences, while the male was wanted for 3, in addition to being recalled to prison. Both had remained outstanding for a considerable time and had continued offending during that period. Both suspects have been charged and remanded for multiple knife point robberies and commercial burglaries across London. | ||
